In the never-ending quest to attract a younger audience to casinos, MGM Resorts has announced that a former nightclub at the Luxor in Las Vegas will reopen as an esports arena.

The business has entered into a deal with Allied Esports and Esports Arena to develop a dedicated venue for gamers at the now closed LAX nightclub. The 30,000-square-foot space will have multi-level arena filled with competition phase, LED video wall, telescopic seating, daily gaming stations, a customized food and beverage offering, and a state-of-the-art streaming and television-quality manufacturing studio.
Niklas Rytterstrom, general manager of Luxor, believes that esports is the future and will be one of the more popular features at the Strip resort, once it is completed in June 2018.
‘Our company is the leader in the entertainment industry and recognizes the growth that is exciting the esports industry,’ he said. ‘ Using this partnership, we will introduce an experience that is new the marketplace, again elevating the city’s vast activity offerings.’
